I am super excited! After my Crochet Guild Meeting I get to "meet" my new yarn. My mom went to Ireland and came home with some wool for me! Yay! The shopkeeper told mom (who is not a knitter yet still searched high and low for some wool for me. Thanks mom!) she purchased enough to make a sweater. If that is the case I will be making either Ardara or Killorglin as my Irish sweater. Both are by Carol Feller. I'm waiting until I see the yarn to make a final decision.
Currently on my needles is the Lace Inset Shaped Cardigan or Vest. The back is complete and I am not working on the left front. Photos will be posted Wednesday on my WIPS Wednesday post. Also on the needles is Solar Flare. The yarn for both these projects was purchased last year at New York Sheep and Wool.

Two great projects you have on your needles and I love both your chocies for your Irish Yarn.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I want to make both the sweaters, it's coming to come down to how much yardage is at my parents house.
DeleteOh, I like your possible choices for your Irish yarn, either of those are lovely! I'll be back Wednesday to check your progress pictures because both of those patterns look oh so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! See ya Wednesday!
DeleteCan't wait to see your new yarn..and I really like that Solar Flare..
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh that cardi is going to be gorgeous!!! adding to favorites NOW!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to be waiting on new wool...the solar flare is very pretty and I love the Ardara....stunning!
ReplyDeleteoh those gorgeous cardigans! Looking forward to seeing what your mum brings back for you :) - Kate
ReplyDeleteBoth those patterns are gorgeous, but Ardara literally took my breath away. Aren't Moms the greatest? Mine convinced her caregiver to drive her to the LYS after a morning at the hospital clinic to pick up a yarn-dying kit for me :) Now that's dedication!
ReplyDeleteboth sweater choices are stunning, but i think the pattern for Ardara is slightly more flattering. It cinches in at the waist and creates a long lean silohette. The other seems to pull at the bust and the hips. Of course, if you really love it, please disregard what I said.
ReplyDeleteI would be so impatient to meet your new wool. I'll also try to peek in on wednesday to see your project.
I need to send my mom on some trips~ What a lucky girl you are. I will be anxious to see your Irish yarn and which pattern you choose. You have some very lovely projects going right now--
ReplyDelete*smiles and cheeriness sent to you*
Great pattern choices!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting yarn adventure!
ReplyDeleteOooh suprise yarn is always fun, i hope it's nice!
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the knitter! And yarn from Ireland...how wonderful that is! Those sweaters are gorgeous. I'm a new knitter so I can only hope to live long enough to get that good! LOL! Good luck on all your YOP's!
