WIP Wednesdays with Tami's Amis:

I've got two projects I'm currently working on.  The first is a sweater I'm hoping to wear to NYS Sheep and Wool.  I've got just about a month to get it finished!  I've added a few rows since Sunday and am about to bindoff the left side.


The next is my travel project.  This pair of socks lives in the car.  Every so often I add a row, usually while I am waiting for the boys I watch to get out of school.  These should be done soon.

A Year of Projects and Wips Wednesday Update

It's been a while since I posted for A Year of Projects and Wips Wednesday.  This viral thing really knocked me on my butt.  Still not 100%, but I think it's mostly allergies at this point.  Allergies this early for me, does not bode well for the season.  Hopefully the allergy meds will kick in soon!

I didn't start knitting/crocheting again until Friday night.  A friend hosted a small knit night at her house.  I took my sweater with me.  I added a few rows to the left front, which is almost done now:

The plan is to wear this to Sheep and Wool the weekend of October 20/21.  Guess who needs to get her butt in gear!?!

Other than that I'm crocheting a washcloth for my goddaughter.  She was recently up for a visit and saw Babygirl's washcloths and decided she'd like pink and purple "yarn washcloths" for her birthday.  That's become my travel project as I start babysitting again today.  I'll work on them while I wait for the boys to get out of school.

I feel like such a slacker.  This is all I've worked on since Friday:

Really not sure what's going on with me and knitting/crocheting right now.  I'm just not feeling it :(    At this point I'm not sure what to do.  Do I step back and take a little break?  Start something new?  Force myself to work on what I've got on the hooks needles?  I don't like feeling this way.  Knitting and crocheting are my stressbusters.  They usually help me to relax.  Right now, not so much.  I'm hoping this passes quickly.

Still working on my Lacy Cardigan.  Here's the latest picture:

Sorry about the picture, something is going on with my point and shoot camera.  I'm hoping it's just the memory card.  I'll be getting a new one this weekend to test it.  Until then I'm going to have to use my SLR for photos.

 Almost finished sock #1.  As of last night:

Babygirl is teething something fierce this week, so there hasn't been much time for knitting.  Any free time I have I find myself slipping away to get a quick nap.  Hopefully this will be over soon.  Poor kid is miserable :(

Since finishing  Babygirl's sweater, I've been working on my lacy cardigan and a pair of socks. Here's the cardigan:

 The socks are my almost mindless knitting project.  I'm at the heel so there's a little bit of thinking involved, but definitely not as much as the lacy cardigan.  With my lack of sleep (teething again!!) this week I'd much rather screw up the socks than the sweater :) And the socks:

They've grown a bit since this picture and have been separated so I can work on them one at a time, but you get the general idea.  The yarn is Socks that Rock and I am loving it!

I'd like to wear the sweater to Rhinebeck in October so this will be my general focus for now.

Babygirl's sweater.   I am loving this yarn, although it can be splitty at times.  This has been a quick knit.  I think I need to knit baby sweaters more often...they go so fast!  Working on the last sleeve now!  Sorry for the crappy picture.  We are in the middle of a heat wave and I wanted to get this posted before Babygirl wakes up.  As soon as she wakes up we are headed out to the mall for a show, then we're setting up her pool because it is going to be hot and nasty today!

Hallett's Ledge: Swatch is done.  I need to pick up a set of circular needles. I'm waiting until I finish Babygirl's sweater.  That way I can't start :)

My Lacy Cardigan sweater:  Still looks like this.  I did write out the directions for the next section.  I'll get back to this soon!

Solar Flare: I've added six rows this week.  This is the old picture because it pretty much still looks like this :)

  Bellatrix: FINISHED!  Finally.  This pattern was challenging and sat in time out for a few months before I finished the second sock.

I feel like it's been a while since I've crocheted anything.  So... here's a new project on the hook: a shell stitch baby blanket:

No pattern, just pulled out a stitch dictionary and looked for a nice stitch to use.  The yarn is Bernat Kashmere (I believe it's discontinued, pulle dit out of the stash.  I can't even remember where it originally came from.)

Still working on Solar Flare, though I haven't touched it too much this week for fear of screwing it up.  I've had a lot on my mind and haven't been very focused at night so I've only been doing a row or two at a time.  Still loving this pattern and yarn. The yarn is Ulndi by ...into the whirled colorway Fourteen dot Twelve. Still working chart 2.

Also still working on my yellow plain vanilla's (Lion Brand Sock Ease).  They are starting to feel like the never ending pair of socks.

At the heel for Bellatrix, which means these are stalled for the moment.  I plan on spending some time on them this weekend.

I've started this beauty...sorta: All The Shades of Truth  Working with worsted so I'm making some changes to section sizes.  This is being done in Vanna's Choice by Lion Brand.

Haven't touched Bellatrix so I'm not going to bother with a photo.  Hopefully I'll feel like working on that one this week.

I've finished Chart 1 of Solar Flare!  I'm so excited.  I absolutely love this pattern and yarn.  The yarn is Ulndi by ...into the whirled colorway Fourteen dot Twelve.  This is my first time working with into the whirled yarn and I love it!  I can't wait to get some more at NY Sheep and Wool this fall.  (The only reason I'm not getting it before is I'm on a serious yarn diet.  Way too much yarn (with way too little time to knit/crochet).

I've added a few rows to both WIP socks, but no real progress to speak of.
